Gravel is America's new number one cycling sport. It's completely unique and will challenge you in every way you can imagine. Why gravel
is so much more demanding on our energy systems and cause earlier fatigue? On average, gravel riding takes 30% more effort than road riding on the road, your heart rate and raspatory system is also working harder due to demanding terrains.
Based on the thousands of miles I've logged in on loose stone, mud, and class four dirt roads, I've put together a gravel checklist which includes my specific recommendations for bikes, tires, and equipment.

Phase 1: Consistency through Discipline
Lay the groundwork now with the 4-pillar Foundation™ to improve your cycling endurance. Study and work on the basis of the 4 Pillars and learn about the skills and equipment you will need to reduce your chances of a DNF in these challenging events.
Phase 2: Grit and determination.
You'll need a disciplined structured riding/training program —and a dependent community—to successfully prepare for your events. Learn all the variables that impact your performance with a structured actionable plan. By April 1st you'll be dialed in.
Phase 3: Performance and results.
